Roger is in charge of a crew that specializes in hydro jetting. They cleared my mainline out from years of buildup. No more bubbling or gurgling in the plumbing. Roger explained each step as he went through the process of clearing the line. He made recommendations to prevent future backups. Highly recommend if you want a plumber who will explain to you what you need.

One blocked fixture, or the whole line?

Five questions that separate a clog under one sink from a problem in the pipe everything drains into. One is an hour. The other is why the same visit gets sold to you three times.

Drain And Sewer Check

About 60 seconds
Step 1 of 5 · What is slow

What is slow or backing up?

One fixture is a blockage in that fixture's own branch. More than one at the same time means the pipe they share.

Step 2 of 5 · History

How often does this happen?

A drain that clogs on a schedule is not a clog, it is the pipe wall. Snaking buys a few months and takes another scrape off a wall that is already thin.

Step 3 of 5 · Where

Is it the same drain every time?

The same place on a schedule points at one length of pipe. Different places point at the main.

Step 4 of 5 · The house

When was the home built?

Cast iron drains went into homes until 1975 and Florida soil has been eating them since. Older streets also mean mature trees, and roots find joints.

Step 5 of 5 · Other signs

Anything else going on?

These are the five things the camera is sent down to look for.

Backing up right now

Stop running water anywhere in the house, including the washing machine. If it is coming up through a floor drain or a shower, do not use the toilets.

Questions People Ask

Do you camera the line after clearing it?

Yes, every time. Clearing a drain without looking at why it clogged is how people end up paying for the same visit three times.

Does the camera go down before or after the drain is cleared?

After. A camera cannot see past a blockage, so the line gets cleared first and scoped second. What the footage shows is what the quote is built on.

What does a sewer camera actually look for?

Five things. Roots at a joint, common on older streets. Scale and channeling, which is cast iron aging out. A belly, a section that has sagged and now holds water. An offset joint, usually from soil movement. And nothing at all, which is a real result.

What if the line turns out to be fine?

Then we tell you it is fine and there is no quote attached. A list of problems with nothing marked healthy is a sales document rather than an inspection.

Is one slow drain the same problem as several?

No, and the difference says where to look. One fixture backing up on its own is usually local to that fixture's branch. Several fixtures backing up at once points at the main drain or the sewer lateral.

My drain is backing up right now. What do I do first?

Stop running water anywhere in the house, including the washing machine. If it is coming up through a floor drain or a shower, do not use the toilets. Then call 813-838-4193.

The Second Call Is The Expensive One

A drain that clogs once is a drain. A drain that clogs every few months is a system telling you something, and clearing it each time is the costliest way to find out. Both plans below cover the clearing itself.

Covered repairs are the ones found during the scheduled visit. Sign up by phone on 813-838-4193, or read the full plan detail.
