We answer 24/7

Got an emergency?

Shut the main off, then call. We answer 24 hours a day, every day. We will talk you through it and tell you straight whether a plumber can get to you tonight.

Before anyone gets there

Three things in the next two minutes

Step one

Shut the main off

Street side of the house near the hose bib, or a green box at the curb. Turn it clockwise until it stops.

Step two

Kill power to the water heater

If the leak is near it, switch the breaker off. An element firing in an empty tank is a far bigger bill.

Step three

Photograph everything

Before you mop. On an insurance claim those photos are the difference between covered and denied.

What happens when you call

A straight answer on the call

We ask what is happening and walk you through what to shut off. If a technician can get to you tonight we say so and quote the after hours fee before anyone is dispatched, and he calls you from the road.

If nobody can get there, we tell you that instead of leaving you waiting, and we call a partner shop on your behalf. Whose van is in the driveway matters less than whether the water stops.

Tonight, or morning

Not everything is an emergency

Tonight: water you cannot shut off, sewage coming into the house, no water at all, a gas smell near the heater, a leak over a ceiling or near a panel.

Usually holds until morning: one dripping tap, one slow drain, a running toilet you can shut off at the wall. If it can wait, we say so, and you do not pay an after hours rate to hear it.

Google review

Showed up on a holiday weekend and had us back up and running in minutes. Left a message and we were contacted promptly. The service tech was very nice and worked very hard. Thank you for helping us.

Questions People Ask

Do you answer the phone at 2am?

Often, and we will not pretend it is guaranteed. Call any time. We triage on that call and tell you whether a technician can get to you tonight, and if nobody can we say so rather than leave you waiting, and we call a partner shop on your behalf.

What does an after hours plumbing call cost?

The after hours fee is quoted on the phone before anyone rolls. You will never meet it for the first time on an invoice.

Where is the main water shut off on a Florida house?

The code says there are three. section 606.1 of the 2023 Florida Building Code, Plumbing requires a full open valve on the service pipe from the public supply near the curb, another on the distribution pipe where it enters the structure, and another on the supply to every water heater. The one you want in a hurry is street side of the house near the hose bib, or in a box at the curb. Turn it clockwise until it stops. Use the valve on your side of the meter rather than the one inside the utility's meter box, because several utilities in this area reserve that one for their own staff.

What should I do in the first two minutes of a burst pipe?

Three things. Shut the main off, street side near the hose bib or at the green box at the curb, clockwise until it stops. Switch the breaker off for the water heater if the leak is anywhere near it, because an element firing in an empty tank is a far bigger bill. Then photograph everything before you mop.

Why photograph the damage before cleaning it up?

Because the photographs are the evidence of what the damage looked like before anyone touched it. On an insurance claim that is the difference between covered and denied.

Is this an emergency, or can it wait until morning?

Call tonight for water you cannot shut off, sewage coming into the house, no water at all, a gas smell near the heater, or a leak over a ceiling or near an electrical panel. Usually holds until morning: one dripping tap, one slow drain, or a running toilet you can shut off at the wall. If it can wait we say so, and you do not pay an after hours rate to hear it.

What if you cannot get to me tonight?

We say so on the call, and we call a partner shop on your behalf. Getting your water stopped matters more than whose van is in the driveway.

How long do I have to report water damage to my insurer in Florida?

One year from the date of loss for an initial or reopened claim, and eighteen months for a supplemental claim. That is Florida Statute 627.70132, and the clock runs from the date of loss rather than from the date you noticed it. For a weather event the statute sets the date of loss as the date the hurricane made landfall or the storm was verified by NOAA. The window used to be two years and three years and was shortened in 2022, so advice you find from before then is out of date. Photograph everything before you mop, and report it early.
